The global environmental agenda has created a shift in world order and it is no coincidence that fashion has been influenced by the trend as designers increasingly look to nature for inspiration, be it for print and pattern influences or for more cerebral concepts. But nature doesn’t stand still, it is an ever-evolving process and our modern-day pioneers know they must combine natural resources with technology in order to reinvent and see things in a new way. Our Modern Rustic mood is born from that ideology, harnessing the raw aesthetics and imperfections of nature with the man-made to create a new luxury. The new dynamic has a sense of the rough-luxe – it is earthy and robust, mixing functional utilitarian influences with the organic. That combination will shape the season to come, with the natural beauty of fur working for simplified shapes and the contrast of hi-tech fabrications.
Colour | The colours of nature are reflected in our Modern Rustic palette with warm earthbound browns and soft greyed buddleia greens, like leaves viewed through early morning mist, complimented by a level of tinted vapour greys and delicate sunrise pinks, which we see working as subtle accent colours within the palette.
